When will I expect to get a short or long term job?
This depends on where and when we get requests for a locum or contract in the UK to cover team sports, hospital sports and exercise medicine, primary care sports medicine, sporting events etc. As sports and exercise medicine is a relatively new speciality, we are constantly reviewing our contacts in this field.
Can other areas of hospital medicine apply to register?
Yes, particularly GPs, emergency medicine, orthopaedics or doctors who already work with team sports or work as crowd doctors etc provided they have the required qualifications as specified on the registration page of this site (ie. Diploma, MSc, membership of the new sports and exercise medicine faculty in Edingburgh etc).
How much will I be paid and how?
Details of the payments will be discussed with you before you agree to a job placement or contract. Payments will be made directly into your bank account either weekly or monthly depending on the contract.
How soon will I get a job?
We are constantly reviewing the job situation in the area of sports and exercise medicine, musculoskeletal medicine, crowd and event medicine in the UK. As this area of medical practice is constantly changing, we will be able to get you a job once we obtain confirmation of a job offer but will be able to do so when your registration and verification of qualification process are complete.
